A vital component of Leadership Johns Creek is community service. The graduating classes to date have made substantial contributions to the Johns Creek community.
Inaugural Class of 2010 Projects: The Newtown Park Community Garden; the Environmental Teaching Pond at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center; four Historical markers/educational signs installed along the Johns Creek greenway; and a video depicting the unique history of Johns Creek which is available for use by community groups and schools.
Class of 2011 Projects: A certified Natural Wildlife Habitat and upgraded Greenway near Johns Creek High School; the “Billy Badge Program” to introduce Public Safety to kindergarten and 1st grade elementary school children; “Crossing Over Johns Creek” signs to mark each location in the community where the road crosses the actual Johns Creek; and historical markers at the locations where Johns Creek enters the city (headwaters) and feeds into the Chattahoochee River (tail waters).
Class of 2012 Project: Refreshed and enhanced fitness Trail 7 in the Johns Creek Technology Park. This beautiful half mile lake-front trail was transformed with new fitness stations, benches, picnic tables, bird houses, trash receptacles and artwork for the Johns Creek Community to enjoy.
