Candidate Debate - State Senate and Fulton County Commission

STUDENT LEADERSHIP JOHNS CREEK HOSTS TWO CANDIDATE DEBATES

Student Leadership Johns Creek will be hosting two candidate debates prior to the upcoming election on November 8.  The first debate is a Georgia House and Senate candidate debate which will be held on Wednesday, September 28th at Northview High School featuring candidates vying for State Senate Seat 48 Shawn Still and Josh Uddin; State House Seat 48 Scott Hilton and Mary Robichaux and State House Seat 50 Michelle Au and Narender Reddy. The second debate will be held on Thursday, October 6th at Johns Creek High School between candidates running for the Fulton County Commission District 1 post Maggie Goldman and Bridget Thorne and State Senate Seat 14 candidates Liz Hausmann and Josh McLaurin.  The debates will be totally moderated and run by a group of students.

The Student Leadership Johns Creek Secretary of State Ambassadors consist of 9 students who work in conjunction with the Secretary of State’s office to facilitate events to educate and encourage our citizens to become more involved in local politics. The students are: Alisha Kohli, Aria Smith, Brady Carnesale, Varsha Nirmal, Nicholas Stone, Shruthi Balachander, Lakshana Ramanan, Tiffany Obasohan and Neha Gurram. The event will be completely run by these students.  They will come up with a master of ceremonies, moderators, time keepers, rules of the debate, and all the questions.  There will be a 30-minute meet and greet prior to both events beginning at 6 pm.
