September 12, 2019
City Day
Johns Creek City Hall; 11360 Lakefield Drive, Johns Creek, GA  30097

In this session participants will gain an understanding of how Johns Creek city government works and it’s relationship to Fulton County Government. A historical perspective will be provided as well as the current state of the city and its goals and direction. The day will include a trolley tour throughout the community, a tour of the City Council Chamber, traffic control center, and an interactive lesson of planning and communication.

October 10, 2019
Non-Profit Day/Poverty Simulation/”Leadership Boundaries”-Townsend Leadership
Location:Johns Creek Presbyterian Church; 10950 Bell Road, Johns Creek, GA  30097

This session introduces the group to the non-profit organizations in our city, services they provide, future challenges, changing trends, and needs assessment.  NFCC will conduct a poverty simulation to better understand needs.

This provides an overview of possibilities for project selection.
The second half of the day will explore the dynamics of successful teams and assesses components of achieving results in groups.

November 14
Project Proposal/Sojourn Team Building
Location: Perimeter Church

Leadership Johns Creek Board will attend and hear proposal for team projects to benefit city or local charities of their choice. Afternoon will be a fun outdoor team building holiday event.

December 12, 2019
Education Day/Six Essential Qualities that Determine your Success Workshop
Location: TBD

Presenters including Fulton County Superintendent, Area Superintendent, School Board members, Continuing Education representative, Home School Advocate, and Private School Head provide a better understanding of current issues facing all types of schooling. Federal, state, and local policies will be discussed. The class will have opportunity to visit schools in the community. The afternoon will provide personal leadership development with the Townsend Leadership experts facilitating and workshop on effective leadership qualities.  

January 9, 2020
Healthcare Day/ Mental Health local Opioid Crisis & Suicide Discussion /Difficult Conversation Workshop
Location: Emory Johns Creek Hospital

This session will provide presentations on current community health related issues. Drug addiction panel discussion with JCPD, Emory, Forsyth Drug Awareness Program, CDC. A tour of the hospital will be provided and the afternoon will consist of personal leadership training Townsend Leadership to train on how to have difficult conversations.

February 13, 2020
Government Day
Meet at Perimeter Church parking lot for bus transportation to Atlanta.

This day will allow the group to learn about the history of the capitol, how government works, current events, and how the court system in Atlanta works. We will tour the Georgia State Capitol, Fulton County Government Center, the Court House, the Fulton County Jail, and meet our North Fulton Delegation and Senate and House Representatives.

March 12, 2020
Business Day/Diversity Day/Emotional Intelligence Workshop
Location: TBD

The group will receive an overview of businesses in Johns Creek and the factors that influence economic development, jobs, sustaining a workforce, housing, plans for economic growth, public policy decision making, and industry civic involvement affects on our city. Speakers from members of various diverse communities will present on initiatives, inclusion, and challenges.

The afternoon will provide a workshop on Emotional Intelligence.

April 9, 2020
Public Safety Day
Location: Johns Creek Fire Station #62

This session will expose participants to the procedures of the Fire and Rescue Department and the Police Department. Participation with first responder’s operations provided and presentations on public education, programs, and plans to enhance services given.   The class will observe a  Municipal court in session, visit the K-9 training center and view a SWAT demonstration, Active shooter training

May 14, 2020
Program Conclusion/Graduation Day
Location: Atlanta Athletic Club

Celebration with family members, employers, friends.
