LEADERSHIP JOHNS CREEK PROGRAM OVERVIEW

INTRODUCTION

Leadership Johns Creek (LJC) is a respected and impactful community leadership organization dedicated to fostering leadership skills and civic engagement among individuals in the Johns Creek area. With a rich history spanning over 15 years, Leadership Johns Creek has been a driving force behind numerous projects and initiatives that have contributed to the betterment of the Johns Creek community.

After 15 years of exceptional community service through adult leadership programming, Leadership Johns Creek's board of directors has made the strategic decision to transition the organization's full purpose to serve as the umbrella organization overseeing student leadership programs. This evolution reflects LJC's commitment to investing in the next generation of community leaders and ensuring a lasting impact on the Johns Creek, Alpharetta, and Roswell communities.

MISSION

To develop, energize, and activate community leaders in Johns Creek by providing insight into and interaction with city, business, and government executives to affect positive change.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

Leadership Johns Creek now serves as the umbrella organization overseeing two distinct student leadership programs, each designed to meet the needs of different student populations:

Student Leadership NORTH (Two-Year Program)

As a highly respected program serving students in Johns Creek, Alpharetta, and Roswell, the flagship two-year Student Leadership NORTH program is designed for rising sophomores and juniors. This comprehensive program provides in-depth leadership development, community engagement opportunities, and extensive networking with local leaders and organizations. Students participate in hands-on community service projects and develop the skills necessary to become effective leaders in their communities.

Rising Leaders Program (One-Year Program)

The one-year Rising Leaders program serves rising juniors and seniors who were unable to participate in the two-year Student Leadership NORTH program. This hybrid offering provides concentrated leadership training and community service opportunities, ensuring that more students have access to quality leadership development regardless of their circumstances or prior commitments.

Grant Project Oversight

Leadership Johns Creek oversees all grant projects undertaken by student leaders in both programs, ensuring that student-led initiatives have the support, resources, and guidance needed to make meaningful impacts in our community.
